With over 25 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, Doug has an innate ability for helping physicians create operational efficiencies, improve profitability and position their practices for growth. With his breadth of knowledge and careful attention to detail, Doug’s assistance frees his clients to dedicate their time and energy on delivering high-quality patient care. Doug also brings a great deal of value to practice managers, coaching and supporting them in creating efficient workflow as well as helping them manage and develop employees.
In addition to providing traditional consulting services to clients, Doug specializes in concierge medicine start-up and conversion services. He has helped several physicians develop the structure and techniques that have created success for their concierge practices.
Having served a broad range of specialties, including podiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, urology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, neurology, gastroenterology, general surgery, physiatry, internal and family medicine, Doug brings a rich perspective to all of his clients.
Prior to joining DoctorsManagement, spent 20 years at GlaxoSmithKline where he excelled in sales management, training, recruiting, and market development. He has written numerous articles for the Journal of the Tennessee Medical Association. He is also a regular contributor to articles on the topic of concierge and retainer-based medicine for various national publications including Medical Economics.
Doug holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He lives in Knoxville, TN with his wife and two sons.
